Ernie qualified as an Attorney in December 1974 after completing his articles with the Office of the State Attorney where he also practiced, specialising in Property Law, until 1977. Ernie then joined Gildenhuys and Liebenberg (a predecessor of the current GLM) in July 1977 and spent eighteen years with the firm mainly practicing in Property Law. Ernie then joined the corporate environment as Chief Legal Advisor for Sasol Limited for a period of fourteen years. During his employ with Sasol he specialised in all aspects of Property- and Commercial Law and advised on projects as far as the USA, Australia, England and Qatar setting up joint ventures between Sasol and other companies. Ernie rejoined GLM again in 2005 practicing as a full-time consultant in our Corporate and Commercial Department.
